The work Foldings presents a series of deconstructed landscapes rendered through fabricated geographic layers. In the series Icelandic sceneries are digitally processed and made into seemingly three-dimensional images, creating the illusion that the landscapes are folded into shapes. These shapes either follow the existing terrain or create new terrains, but the subject itself remains fixed. Foldings visualizes an attempt to give classic landscape imagery a subjective topographic dimension, adding notions of both abstraction and expanded space.
